Sure, everyone should pick their battles, but when it comes to the battles we pick (which is making sure we are doing our best work that will be most effective for the client), we will fight for what is right.
Of course, this means that we also need to back up our ideas with data and insights.
What we strive for in our work is FLAWLESSNESS.
This means that we check and double check and triple check our work, but it also means that the creative we suggest is backed up with data and insights. We have checked all angles and have thought out every possible interpretation.
Being Informed is ESSENTIAL
We love opinions and opinionated people, but what we don't love is UNINFORMED opinions.
Though the "gut" is a great place to start on ideas, it is essential that our instincts can be backed up with data and information from unbiased sources. So, "This would be cool" needs to be backed up by, "...because this research shows that this audience is really into this thing."
We don't know anything and we will always be learning. There is never a moment where we aren't open and learning - even as opinionated as we are - because the world is always changing and there are as many experiences out there as there are people.
We take learning seriously and set aside time every day to catch up on what's new.
Have an Opinion
If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything. There is nothing wrong with having a point of view. What's wrong is if you have one, but you don't know what it is. Nobody is unbiased.
We are opinionated, but not stalwart. We recognize there are as many POVs as there are people in the world and we respect yours, too.
Leave Room for Play
This is the internet. If there is anything it has taught us it's that we should NEVER take ourselves too seriously.
There is always room for play and this is where you will open yourself the widest to new ideas, collaborators and connections. Work hard, but play harder.
